Denmark, a country located on the peninsula of Jutland (Jylland), extending north from the center of western Europe, and the island of more than 400 islands to the east of the peninsula. Jutland makes up more than two-thirds of the world; north of it lies the island of Vendyssel-Thy (4,685 square miles), separated from the mainland by the Lim Fjord. The largest islands in the country are India (Sjælland; 7,031 square kilometers), Vendyssel-Thy, and Funen (Fyn; 1,152 square kilometers). Together with Norway and Sweden, Denmark is part of the northern European region known as Scandinavia. The capital of the country, Copenhagen (København), is located mainly in India; the second largest city, Århus, is the largest city center of Jutland.

Denmark is tied directly to continental Europe at the border of 42 miles Jutland (68 kilometers) by Germany. Without this connection, all borders with adjacent countries are sea, which includes that with the United Kingdom westward across the North Sea. Norway and Sweden lie to the north, it is separated from Denmark by sea routes connecting the North Sea with the Baltic Sea. From west to east, these peaks are called Skagerrak, Kattegat, and The Sound (Øresund). To the east of the Baltic Sea is the Danish island of Bholholm.

Denmark belongs to the Boreal Kingdom and can be divided into two ecoregions: mixed Atlantic forests and mixed Baltic forests. Virtually all of Denmark’s soft forests are fragmented or fragmented, especially for agricultural purposes during the past years.  Deforestation has created large fragments of tropical trees and sand. In addition to this, there are the second-largest evergreen shrubs in the country and, with 12.9% of the world now forested. Norway spruce is the best tree (2017), essential for the production of Christmas trees.

Roe deer live in the countryside in increasing numbers, while large red deer are found in the shallow Jutland forests. Denmark is also home to small mammals such as polecats, hares, and hedgehogs. About 400 species of birds live in Denmark and about 160 of those are native to the country. Large marine mammals include healthy people of Port porpoise, an increasing number of tourist depots, and occasional visits of large whales, including blue whales and orcas.
